IN.Society is our trading name, our business registered name is IN.Society Ltd (company number: 12887403). We are a non-profit organisation with a focus on racial equality & cultural harmony. Our website address is: http://in-society.org.
You probably noticed the forms we asked you to fill in if you became a member (Heyyyy!), attended our events or joined our course which we do collect information. It is completely your right to know how your information is being collected and used- please see details below!
Why does IN.Society collect data?
We use data to make your interactions with us better and provide the best solutions for our community. We align our efforts towards education, resources, advocacy and support services with the needs and demand of our community, also known as you. This includes:

How do I change what you collect about me?
Just simply get in touch! Email us at info@in-society.org with the subject “Request Amendment to Data Collected” to view, amend or delete the data collected about you. We will need to verify it’s really you, we can action any ‘delete my data’ request within 30 working days.
When do we delete data?
We delete our data after two years.
How is data processed?
We store your data on Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive and video/photo material backed-up on an external drive. Both Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive are both rated highly for data security protection and that is why we use them! Only IN.Society staff are able to access data stored on both Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive. In the unlikely event of a data breach, we will contact you.
We also use external software such as Mailchimp and Eventbrite which your data is stored. Whilst the data is stored with them, we supervise it.

Do you share my data externally?
We are big on being transparent with your data. For the usual IN.Society work, your data is used to improve your experience with us, from our events to polls to projects! When we collaborate with others on projects and other initiatives, we may share your information, (and not for marketing purposes), of which we will inform you. You are completely in our right to deny permission for your information to be shared, just simply get in touch!
As a non-profit organisation, we have an asset-lock meaning if we ever had to close the organisation, we will be transferring the organisation’s assets to another operating non-profit organisation instead. In the event of this, we may transfer your data but we will always inform you of this in advance.
As for third-party selling, we will not sell your data or share it unlawfully, that just does not work towards our mission or our style.
